Being a leader means leading by example, and now more so than ever it’s so important to exhibit these leadership skills, as ultimately they will contribute to your success.
1. Competence
High Performers are confident in their abilities. They have mastered the skills needed to get them functioning at their best and if they lack an ability, they will go out of their way to improve that skill. They believe in their ability to figure things out and learn the ropes needed to succeed.

2. Congruence
There is nothing worse than a leader who does not lead by example. A major difference with High Performers is that they have clarity around who they want to be, and it is congruent to their values. They shape their identity to align with their values and furthermore they develop behaviour that supports who they want to be.

3. Connection
There is nothing more important in business than connection. Whether it is with your partners, your team or your customers. Without connection your business will never be as successful as it could be. High Performers have developed the connection needed to lead and it is by them relating to others that they are able to learn more about themselves and the world. It is through connection that we can be more congruent, more confident and more competent.

Confidence is having the underlying trust within yourself to make the difficult decisions and lead your team both through the good times and the times of uncertainty. It’s having the belief in your ability to figure things out.
