Success on Your Terms: Redefining What Truly Matters
Success. It’s a word we hear all the time, but have you ever stopped to ask yourself - what does success actually look like for me? Without the pressure from others or the expectations they put on you or you put on yourself?
For some, success means a high paying job and financial freedom. For others, it’s flexibility, the ability to work on their own terms, pick up their kids from school, or attend every sports game without worrying about meetings. Maybe it’s the freedom to travel the world, or it’s having a strong, supportive community of friends who lift you up, who are there to laugh with you and cry with you.
The truth is, success is personal. But all too often, we measure our own success based on what others are doing. We scroll through social media, see someone buying a new house, landing a promotion, or living their “dream life,” and we start questioning if we’re doing enough. We start to question how they got there and often why them, what did they do differently?
But here’s the thing: your version of success doesn’t have to look like theirs.

Finding Success Is About Working Out What Makes YOU Feel Whole?
Success isn’t just about ticking off external achievements, which is where many of us go wrong. I mean sure that makes us happy for a certain period of time but if that’s all we have we can often begin to feel unfulfilled, incomplete, and not aligned with what truly matters to us.
So, it’s important to constantly take moment to reflect and ask ourselves:
What does success mean to ME, not society, not my industry, not my family, but ME?
What makes ME feel whole?
What kind of life would leave ME feeling proud, content and truly fulfilled?
If you define success by someone else’s standards, you’ll always feel like you’re falling short. But when you create your own definition, you step into a life that feels like it's truly yours.
Stop Comparing - Start Creating
✔ Just because your friend thrives in a corporate job doesn’t mean you need to.
✔ Just because someone else is running a business doesn’t mean it’s the right path for you.
✔ Just because social media glorifies hustle culture doesn’t mean you need to burn yourself out to be successful.
Your success is yours to create. So, instead of comparing yourself to others, start building a life that feels right for YOU. And, if someone else’s life is triggering you, or you feel like you should be there or why them, then maybe it's the wake-up call that you need to stop the excuses and start acting and taking intentional steps towards a life you want.
Maybe they have taken those risks you were scared to take
OR
Maybe when you have been out at night, they have been working on projects to move them forward
OR
Maybe when you have spending money on yearly overseas vacations they have been saving for their first home loan
OR
Maybe when you have been sitting at home on the weekend they have been working their second job
Work out what exactly is it about them that is triggering you and then - work on it!
Live Life on Your Terms
True success isn’t about following a script, it’s about writing your own. It’s about aligning your goals, actions, and daily habits with the things that make YOU happy.
If flexibility is your definition of success, design your career around that.
If financial freedom is your goal, take intentional steps to create wealth.
If quality time with loved ones is what fulfils you, set boundaries to protect that time.
At the end of the day, success isn’t about what looks good on the outside, it’s about what feels right on the inside and you don’t need to explain that to the world.
So My Challenge To You This Week Is The Following:
Take 10 minutes to reflect and answer these questions:
✨ What does success truly mean to me?
✨ Am I currently living in alignment with that vision?
✨ What’s one shift I can make to move closer to MY version of success?
The moment you stop chasing someone else’s dream and start honouring your own, that’s when you’ll feel truly successful.
Live a successful, purposeful and fully charged life everyday!
Your coach,
